School supervisors say they plan to appeal a ruling that has excluded them from a special retirement incentive aimed at members of the state’s major teachers’ union. O’Connor disagreed, noting that NYSUT was a proxy for teachers and targeting that group for a retirement incentive was “a legitimate means of achieving the cost savings envisioned by the Legislature.”
